The Medicine of Energy Healing: Reiki, Seichem, Hollow Bone and More
I experienced my first initiation into the sacred healing practice of Reiki in 1996. I was really only there because a mate had dragged me along, telling me I didn't want to miss this! And with FOMO as my not-so-spiritually aligned motivation, I went to meet the esteemed Reiki master Barbara McGregor, who had travelled from Australia to share the gift of Reiki with the UK.
I was told I was the fourth in line from the original master. I felt privileged to be gifted this activation, and it indeed was a profoundly transformative experience. During the activation process, with my eyes closed, powerful symbols were woven into my energy field. I saw a flash of bright light, and immediately felt the energy in my hands flowing - like a ball of heat and light - as physically as if I was holding a glowing hot football-sized ball in my hands!
Since that time, I have also trained in Hollow bone healing, Plant Spirit Medicine Healing, Seichem, the Sophia codes, Extraction and Illumination, the Munay Ki Rites, and more! So what is the difference and how does one choose which to work with?
Hollow Bone
To begin with, I prefer to start a session as a hollow bone healer. As a hollow bone, I channel whatever spirit wishes me to channel for the person receiving.
Once our physical, energetic and spiritual connection has been established it helps me to read the person, and I may start to receive information about how the person needs to rebalance and restore health. This helps me to then tune into anything specific that we call in or activate during the healing session.
Through gentle touch, I connect with your energy field and facilitate the release of blockages, allowing your spirit to shine. Gentle touch in itself helps us to feel safe, held, and nurtured - which can help the energy and physical body soften, so it is easier for the recipient to receive other healing energies.
Reiki
Reiki is the Japanese word for “universal Life Force”. Reiki can also be experienced remotely – using a ‘proxy’, the energy is sent directly to the client at a different location.
Reiki promotes healing on all levels, enhances our own energy, promotes inner calm, relieves stress and tension and enhances our own self-healing processes.
Reiki is often experienced as a feeling of warmth or a tingling sensation through the hands of the practitioner, and the recipient is almost always aware of this pleasant sensation, too.
Seichem
Seichim stems from the Egyptian word Sekhem meaning 'universal energy & power'.
It is an advanced form of Egyptian hands-on energy healing and it is believed it was taught in the ancient Temples as part of a spiritual practice. Seichim has been described as more yin (feminine) energy and Reiki as more yang (masculine).
Extraction and Illumination
Extraction and Illumination is an Andean Shamanic healing practice in which I use feathers, wands and my hands to remove blockages from the chakras.
These blockages often come with stories attached. I can read the chakras and sense if the blockage is linked to this life, a previous/parallel life or an ancestral wound. Once cleansed, we need to fill the chakras with light, and for this, we access the light of source energy from the Galactic sun through the 9th chakra.
Plant Spirit Medicine Healing
Plant Spirit Medicine healing involves channelling the spiritual energy of plants, the plants I have personally connected to as allies. As I have been doing this work for 30 years, I naturally have quite a few plant allies.
Mama Cacao often works through me, she gifts us the sensation of belonging, and being loved as one of Mama Earth’s children. Mama Cacao helps to release blockages connected to the heart, grief and anxiety, and depression which are common issues we all experience. Mama cacao will help us process these heavy emotions with more ease and grace.
All my plant people allies can be channelled as energy through my hands in the same way I work with Reiki or Siechem. Often after a session, I will be able to gift the recipient a vibrational essence of that plant spirit to continue the healing over a month to enhance the transformational process.
Munay Ki Rites
Occasionally the Munay Ki Rites Initiations are also called for in a 1-2-1, although I most commonly gift these in group settings as part of my Shamans’ Way training.
The most commonly called for initiation is the Bands of Power. An initiation that wraps a protective energy shield around the client and connects them to the elements of earth, air, fire, water and spirit.
This shield helps to digest negative vibrations around them, so they are less affected by other people or situations that feel toxic to them. It can also help us digest the past negative stories we may have lived through - including past life and ancestral wounds.
Each of the Munay Ki Rites is unique, and they are best gifted as a complete set of 10 rites. Sometimes, when that isn’t possible, so we do our best for each person individually, gifting the rite that resonates with their holistic healing needs in the moment.
In Summary
Each of these healing modalities helps us to cleanse the energy field, restore the life force and bring transformation and healing. An additional element of this experience is often an awakening of the third eye, visions may come, old memories may arise, sometimes beautiful, and sometimes we face our shadows which wish to be healed by this love and light.
Each session lasts one hour to 90 minutes. Shamanic mentoring is also included within the hour healing session, sharing shamanic wisdom that may be of assistance on your personal healing journey. The bonus is our healing ripples out and touches those in our lives, too. We can heal our world, and we must begin with our own hearts.
