Finding Your Way with Ayahuasca Microdosing in the Year of the Snake
The Chinese astrological year of the Snake begins on the 29th of January. It is considered a time for reflection, wisdom, and rejuvenation. The Snake Year symbolises transformation and new beginnings. In the same way that a snake sheds her skin, not one scale at a time, but shifts her entire body to shed the past and expand into a new version of herself, we have an opportunity to shed our past and develop too.
The Snake year encourages us to embrace deep thinking and gives us access to problem-solving skills. It can help us to access greater intuitive powers and sharpen our instincts, which can help guide us to success. It also helps us be more adaptable and welcome change more easily and gracefully.
The Snake is also associated with beauty and charm, making this a year to focus on self-care, relationships, and cultivating peace and prosperity. This is a wonderful time to take time to reflect on the past year, tune in to spiritual guidance or enhanced intuition and set meaningful intentions for the Year of the Snake, focusing on personal growth, welcoming change and transformation.
This is where the concept of ayahuasca microdosing enters the picture. When I first worked with Ayahuasca as a microdose medicine in meditation, she appeared to me as the spirit of a giant green snake. The Shamanic teacher I was working with at this time explained to me that this was the spirit of the jungle, inviting me on a journey. And as I climbed onto the beautiful giant green snake’s back, she took me on a journey into the beckoning jungle, where I felt deeply connected to nature, alive, strong and connected, especially to the plant spirits that are my greatest earth allies. I cried for a while, releasing tears filled with love and remembering, I felt like I had been there before, this was my spiritual home, not specifically the jungle, but definitely with the trees and plant beings. The longer-term effects of working with the essence over about 6 months were more profound. I felt a greater clarity, courage and purpose. The assurity that I was on the right path showed up as ‘plant spirit medicine woman’. Helping others connect to nature, to remember we are one Earth family. As we nurture nature, nature nurtures us. Mama Ayahuasca helped me to let go of anxiety and self-doubt, leading me to become more empowered, and more passionate, as an individual and as a healer and teacher.
For me, Ayahuasca is the perfect plant ally for us as we move into the Chinese Year of The Snake! And I encourage you to join me for a taste of her medicine this coming month, so I am offering a discount for 2 weeks to help you afford the next step on your pathway to success.
What is Ayahuasca Microdosing?
The best part about Ayahuasca microdosing in her pure form is that she does not contain DMT, which is the psychedelic component introduced to the infusion from a secondary plant source and used in traditional ayahuasca ceremonies to help participants ‘trip’ and explore non-ordinary reality to heal, and awaken their consciousness to spiritual guidance. Thankfully, there is no risk of blowing your mind and losing your connection to everyday reality with this formula; It is very gentle indeed - subtle but steadily shifting, very much in alignment with the idea of shedding a skin the way mama snake does and expanding into a better version of ourselves with grace and ease. There is no need for a special diet, no need to travel to a country where it is legal, as it is in the UK in its pure form.
Ayahuasca in microdose does contain very small quantities of Harmaline/Harmaline Alkaloids. These are MAOIs (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) found in ayahuasca vines. These alkaloids in the pure ayahuasca vine have been scientifically proven to help with depression, anxiety, and neurodegenerative diseases. One of many studies on this powerful plant medicine published in Scientific Reports journal in 2017 has shown the alkaloids she contains increase brain function, work as an antioxidant and antidepressant, and help to relieve symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. They help treat adult neurological disorders by stimulating neuroplasticity and their antioxidant properties can help protect the neural cell damage. Ayahuasca is a brain medicine, a consciousness medicine, and a powerful assistant to our intuition and wisdom. Taken on its own, the Ayahuasca vine is not addictive, but rather calming and relieving. It will slowly increase serotonin levels over time fostering a sense a well being.
From a more traditional perspective, Ayahuasca has been used for healing for 1,000s of years. Ayahuasca, meaning ‘vine of the soul’, is traditionally used as a plant medicine amongst the Indigenous people of the Amazon Rainforest. The Shamans believe that as a ‘master plant’ it helps enhance people’s empathy and contains a protective and nurturing energy, known as Mother Aya.
Microdosed ayahuasca offers many of the same effects as the Ayahuasca ceremony, only over a much longer time span. Rather than taking part in a one-off all-night-long ceremony, you can take the essence for four weeks on, one week off schedule, over several months with your microdose supply. The first time I worked with this essence in microdose, I took it for 6 months, because that’s how long I noticed her subtle healing shifts supporting me. Now I generally take the essence for a few weeks at a time. And sometimes, just in a one-off dose, to help deepen my mediation practice when I have a specific question or issue on which I would like spiritual guidance.
I am so grateful to my teachers who trained me in the traditional Shipibo way to make this sacred and gentle medicine. This extract has gifted me a new way of seeing and helped cleanse away old ways that were not serving me. To move through life with greater awareness, ease, grace, and clarity. To help me become the person I chose to be, rather than a manifestation of the unconscious, the epigenetic wounds of the past, the stories of our own previous lifetimes, or a puppet of societal demands.
Mama Aya wants you to wake up, step into your power and help bring this world into harmony too, and she has gifted me the opportunity to share her medicine with you too. I thank you, Mama Aya and all our relations - AHO!
